QYOU Media appoints Raj Mishra as India Group CEO

QYOU Media Inc., a company operating in India and the United States, has named digital leader and strategist Raj Mishra as the Group CEO for its India operations.

In this role, Mishra will oversee all business units and work towards enhancing operational and financial synergies among the company’s primary business units.

According to the press release, QYOU Media is set to pivot further into digital distribution and direct-to-consumer initiatives in India.

Raj Mishra, who joined QYOU’s Board of Directors in May 2023, has a remarkable track record of driving business growth and profitability in the mobile, media, and entertainment sectors.

With over 13 years of experience, Mishra has held senior management roles in successful app businesses in India. His expertise lies in go-to-market strategies, sales, marketing, business growth, and profit and loss management in India’s evolving social media landscape.

Notably, Raj Mishra played a pivotal role in the success of Musical.ly in India (now TikTok), leading it to over 60 million monthly active users.

As the Country Head for both Musical.ly and TikTok after the acquisition, he contributed to ByteDance’s growth in India, established local teams, formed business partnerships, and nurtured the creator community.

During his leadership, Musical.ly became the most downloaded app on Android and iOS app stores. He oversaw the transition from Musical.ly to TikTok, which quickly became one of the most downloaded apps in India, with 610 million downloads in India alone in less than three years.

Afterward, he worked on strategy for ByteDance’s suite of products, including Helo, and subsequently joined Triller as the Country GM and India Head, laying the foundation for its expansion in India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Mishra has also provided strategic and revenue generation strategies for various digital and gaming companies, including QYOU’s India business units, as a consultant.

QYOU Media’s business units in India encompass QYOU Media India, which includes broadcast and CTV channels, the influencer marketing business Chtrbox Technologies, and Maxamtech Digital Ventures’ gaming business. With Raj Mishra at the helm, QYOU Media is poised for an exciting new chapter in its history, focusing on India’s digital landscape and creator-centric initiatives.
