Tata Play chief Harit Nagpal foresees TV, OTT coexisting

Like trains didn’t go out of fashion even after a hundred years of airlines in operation, television is here to stay and co-exist with OTT, according to Tata Play MD and CEO Harit Nagpal. Commenting on the debate on whether streaming services on devices could sound the death knell for television, Nagpal, in an interview to PTI, said there will always be a segment of customers opting for TV in India.

DEN Networks Q3 net profit down 3%

Den Networks Ltd, a cable television distribution company, yesterday reported a decline of three per cent in consolidated net profit at Rs 47.85 crore for the third quarter ended December. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 49.32 crore in the October-December period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing of Den Networks, a firm owned by Reliance Industries Group, PTI reported from New Delhi.

Jio, Airtel consider up to 10% price hike for 5G services

Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are likely to withdraw their unlimited 5G data plans for premium customers and charge at least 5-10 percent more for 5G services – compared to 4G – from the second half of 2024 in a bid to drive monetization and boost revenue growth, analysts said.
