The new season of the iconic show will bring a mix of satire and light-hearted comedy
As preparation for upcoming assembly elections in four poll-bound Indian states and one Union Territory gets into full swing, ABP News is committed to bring top-notch coverage on all political affairs of the country.
In line with this commitment, the channel is commencing yet another season of its popular show ‘Poll Khol’, according to a company statement. Hosted by veteran Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman, `Poll Khol’ is a satirical show that delves into the current state of political affairs of the country.
Since its inception in 2004, ‘Poll Khol’ has established itself as an outstanding election season property with a ‘no holds barred, light-hearted approach’ to Indian politics. While the show is extremely frolicsome in nature, its unfailing flair for satire and startling honesty differentiates it from other shows with a similar format, the statement added.
What’s interesting is that the show features a funny and lovable sidekick ‘Bandaru’ whose interaction and banter with the host gives it a quirky touch, making it a show loved by audiences of all ages.
In the new season, host Suman, who has been hosting the show for the last16 years, will bring out the comical aspects of the so called ‘serious political situations’ through his wit and humour and provide a hard-hitting take on the key issues of the country’s political affairs.
The new season will also have periodically refreshed content featuring trending political topics/issues of the week. It started airing as a weekly show from March 20, 2021 at 10:30 PM.
With West Bengal assembly elections just round the corner, the show will turn into a regular weekday show (Mon-Fri) for approximately three weeks to match the intensity of the Bengal political battleground
Commenting on the new season of `Poll Khol’ Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP Network, in a statement said, “At ABP News, we strive to inspire, enlighten, and engage our viewers through new concepts and unique shows. `Poll Khol’ is one such show, which is extremely distinctive and quirky in nature and has something in store for every kind of viewer.
