Rishi Raj Gupta, the APAC human resources head at social media giant Meta India, has resigned from his role to explore new opportunities. Gupta, who joined Meta in 2017, played a crucial role in the company’s Indian leadership team, Business Standard reported.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed the news, stating, “Rishi has made the decision to leave as HR director for India/APAC at Meta to pursue a new phase of his career. Over the last 7 years, Rishi has been an integral member of the India leadership team and has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s growth and development across the region.”
While the exact headcount of Meta employees in India remains unconfirmed, media reports suggest that approximately 500-600 employees work for Meta in the country. Gupta’s contributions spanned across various functions in Asia-Pacific, significantly impacting Meta’s operations in the region.
“During his tenure, Rishi made significant contributions as the HR leader in supporting India’s business by building the senior leadership and talent pool across Meta’s family of apps and functions to effectively serve all our stakeholders. We are grateful for his service and wish him the very best for the future,” the spokesperson added.
Before joining Meta, Gupta served as an HR leader at the pharmaceutical company Cipla. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Meta India’s growth story.
