Tata Play has unveiled a nostalgic new offering, ‘Tata Play Superhit Serials,’ a Value-Added Service set to captivate audiences with beloved TV shows from the 2000s. The service will relaunch several iconic Star Plus serials, which have remained etched in the memories of viewers for years. This move responds to the substantial demand for these classic shows, which are no longer broadcast on television.

‘Tata Play Superhit Serials’ will showcase a range of hit shows that defined Indian television in the 2000s. Subscribers can look forward to reruns of legendary serials such as ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay,’ ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,’ and ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.’ The lineup will also include other notable series like ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz,’ ‘Hatim,’ ‘Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan,’ and the romance drama ‘Navya.’ These shows, known for their compelling characters and intricate family dynamics, will be available ad-free to Tata Play subscribers for just INR 2 per day, the platform said in a press release.

Pallavi Puri, Tata Play’s Chief Commercial and Content Officer, highlighted the strong viewer interest in these classic shows. “Our research revealed a significant demand for beloved classic shows. With a sizeable audience reminiscing about iconic properties like Kasautii, Kahaani, etc., we recognized the need to revisit and curate these groundbreaking programs that still enjoy a strong resonance in the minds of the viewers,” Puri stated. The collaboration with Star Plus aims to rejuvenate these classic shows and make them accessible to today’s viewers.

Gurjeev Singh Kapoor, Head – Distribution and International at Disney Star, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Tata Play to bring back some of Star Plus’ most beloved serials that have left an indelible mark on Indian television,” Kapoor said. “This initiative goes beyond merely reviving classics; it’s about reigniting the excitement and anticipation among our viewers who cherish these timeless stories and characters. Audiences, across generations, can fully immerse themselves in these shows, which still resonate today, through a seamless, ad-free viewing experience.”

The reruns will feature a star-studded cast, including actors like Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari, Ronit Roy, Urvashi Dholakia, Cezanne Khan, Ali Asgar, Rupali Ganguli, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Juhi Parmar, Sudha Chandran, Hiten Tejwani, Kiku Sharda, Anita Hassanandani, Eijaz Khan, and Iqbal Khan. Iconic characters such as Prerna, Parvati, Komolika, Mr. Bajaj, and Anurag Basu will once again entertain viewers in Indian homes.
