Prime Video, a leading entertainment platform in India, is set to unveil its Original movie ‘The Mehta Boys’ at the prestigious 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF), running from September 19 to 22, 2024. The film will make its world premiere on the festival’s Opening Night, September 20.
‘The Mehta Boys’, produced by Irani Movietone LLP and Chalkboard Entertainment LLP, is spearheaded by a creative team including Boman Irani, Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar.
The film, directed and co-written by Boman Irani, also features a screenplay co-written by Alexander Dinelaris Jr., who won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Birdman. The cast includes Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, and Puja Sarup.
According to a press note, the film explores the strained relationship between a father and son who are forced to spend 48 hours together, delving into the complexities of their interactions and the evolving dynamics of their bond.
Following the premiere, the festival will host a discussion with Boman Irani, Alexander Dinelaris Jr., Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, producer Danesh Irani, and executive producer Ankita Batra. On September 21, Boman Irani and Alexander Dinelaris Jr. will lead a master class on the film’s writing process.
