Zee Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh (Zee MPCG), the region’s leading channel, hosted the much-anticipated ‘Building New India’ conclave, marking the completion of Dr. Mohan Yadav’s first year as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
According to a press release, the event, held to celebrate the state’s development milestones and future aspirations, was attended by key dignitaries, including Dr. Mohan Yadav himself, along with Kailash Vijayvargiya as the Guest of Honour. This high-profile conclave served as a platform to discuss the state government’s achievements, ongoing challenges, and ambitious future plans for Madhya Pradesh.
In his address, Dr. Mohan Yadav shared the key accomplishments from his inaugural year in office. Among the highlights was the merger of the medical education and health ministries, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and bolstering the healthcare sector.
This strategic move has already resulted in the inauguration of three new government medical colleges, with a plan to establish 14 more under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and eight currently under construction. This expansion of medical education infrastructure is expected to significantly improve healthcare access and training for future medical professionals in the state.
Water management was another crucial focus for the Chief Minister, who announced the successful resolution of a long-standing water dispute with Rajasthan through a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Furthermore, Dr. Yadav highlighted the ambitious Ken-Betwa river interlinking project, which is set to irrigate 10 lakh hectares of land, provide drinking water to over 40 lakh people across 2,000+ villages, and transform the Bundelkhand region into an agricultural hub, similar to the prosperous states of Punjab and Haryana.
Tourism emerged as a major driver of economic growth, with Dr. Yadav unveiling plans to capitalize on Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage and natural landscapes. The state’s tourism sector is poised for expansion, which is expected to generate employment, promote cultural tourism, and stimulate sustainable economic development.
The conclave underscored the importance of public platforms in fostering transparency and dialogue between the government and citizens. Zee MPCG’s initiative provided a meaningful space for stakeholders to engage in open discussions, reinforcing the commitment to public accountability and progress.
Mohit Sinha, Editor of Zee MPCG, emphasized the role of such platforms in bringing the government closer to its people. “The ‘Building New India’ conclave is a crucial step in fostering transparency and dialogue,” he said. “It empowers the people of Madhya Pradesh with valuable insights into the state’s progress and its vision for the future.”
