Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has announced its partnership with 8Bit Creatives, a leading esports consulting and talent management agency, for the WAVES Esports Championship 2025 (WESC25). This collaboration aims to amplify the tournament’s content and reach, engaging India’s massive youth demographic.
Organized as part of the Create in India Challenges under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, WESC25 is a flagship initiative within the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES). The event is designed to propel India’s growing esports industry and creator economy, cementing the country’s position in the global gaming ecosystem.
With a lineup of India’s most influential gaming creators, including Naman Mathur (Mortal), Payal Dhare (PayalGaming), Raj Varma (Snax), and Kaashvi Hiranandani (KaashPlays), 8Bit Creatives will spearhead engaging content strategies to promote the event. Their creators will actively participate in hosting activities, interacting with fans, and amplifying the event’s visibility across platforms.
Animesh Agarwal, aka 8Bit Thug, CEO and Co-founder of 8Bit Creatives, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “WAVES 2025 marks a groundbreaking chapter in India’s esports journey, and we’re thrilled to be the talent partners driving this initiative. This collaboration not only showcases the potential of esports as a viable career path but also underscores the government’s support for our rapidly growing gaming economy.”
WESC 2025 will feature tournaments in popular titles like eFootball and World Cricket Championship (WCC), spanning four phases and culminating in Grand Finals. The tournament is inclusive and gender-neutral, with qualifiers for several phases already underway. Upcoming registration windows include eFootball Phase 3 (Dec 18 – Jan 1) and WCC3 Phase 2 (Dec 15 – Dec 26).
Highlighting the tournament’s global potential, Mr. Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI and Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF), remarked, “WESC 2025 represents a tremendous leap forward for the Indian esports community. With 8Bit Creatives on board, we are confident in delivering an event that inspires and engages India’s top gaming talent.”
8Bit Creatives and its esports division, S8UL, have cemented their dominance in the industry by winning the Content Group of the Year award at the Esports Awards 2024 for the third consecutive year. Earlier in 2024, the company’s founders participated in a roundtable discussion on India’s gaming industry with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, showcasing their commitment to fostering a sustainable ecosystem for esports and gaming creators.
The WAVES Esports Championship 2025 promises to be a game-changer, spotlighting India’s rising prominence in global esports while providing a robust platform for talent and innovation.
