Aaj Tak, the Hindi news channel, will be presenting the Kolkata edition of its acclaimed and accomplished literature festival, ‘Sahitya Aaj Tak’.
The two-day event is scheduled for February 17 and 18, 2023. A number of well-known writers, scholars, authors, singers, actors, columnists, business executives, poets, and theatre performers will be featured in the Kolkata edition.
In November, over 2.5 lakh (250,000) people came to see over 300 luminaries from literature, art, cinema, music, theatre, and cultural activities at the ‘Sahitya Aaj Tak’ edition in Delhi, the channel said in a statement.
A total of 1,200,000 people registered for the event through walk-in/on-site registration. Following the huge success and popularity of AT Bangla and Ishq FM, ‘Sahitya Aaj Tak’ is getting a Bengali makeover.
The performance of Saraswati Vandana by Anup Jalota will kick off the programme.
The discussion of ‘Bangali Durgay Ache, Ram E Nei?’ will come next. (Bangaliyon me Durga hai, Ram nahi) in which Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri converses with Shankar.
‘Banga Bhumi aur Hindi’ will include a discussion between three author-critics: Prem Shankar Tripathi, Prof. Manju Rani Singh, and Prof. Ramesh Mishra.
Usha Uthup will give a presentation titled ‘Queen of Indian Pop’, and Surajit and Bhoomi Band will talk about the theme ‘Bengali band e bimukh!’ with singer Lagnajitta.
During a session titled ‘Cinemar Raajneeti, Rajneetir Cinema’ (‘Cinema ki Rajniti, Rajniti ka Cinema), Rudranil Ghosh will be in conversation with Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, Arindam Sil, and Bratya Basu.
‘Digital Juge Premer Kobita’ (Digital Yug aur Prem ki Kavita)will be discussed by Anuttama Banerjee, a renowned psychologist and poet; Abhiroop Mukherjee, a poet, scholar, and columnist; and Souvik Guha Sarkar, a poet, author, and editor of the children’s magazine Meghmuluk.
