India TV show ‘Aap Ki Adalat‘ has once again emerged as one of the most-watched Hindi language chat shows within its genre, defeating its opponents in a recent viewership battle.
According to the most recent Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) audience figures, the show featuring comedian Kapil Sharma was the most watched when compared to other chat shows that aired on the same evening featuring the latter.
Kapil Sharma was featured on three national Hindi news stations, including India TV’s ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, Aaj Tak’s ‘Seedhi Baat’, and ABP News’ Press Conference. All of these interviews aired on March 11 in the evening Prime Time, and India TV received around 5.1 million All India Cum-Reach according to BARC, as well as 19.6 million video views across YouTube and Facebook.
According to BARC data, Aap Ki Adalat earned 1238 Gross AMA 000s (between 10 and 11 p.m.) on Saturday, whereas Seedhi Baat earned 1115 Gross AMA 000s. (between 9 pm to 10 pm) It was 607 Gross AMA 000s (between 8 pm and 9 pm) among 15+ HSM audiences for the Press Conference.
According to the total all-time rating, the country’s most-talked-about show, ‘Aap Ki Adalat,’ hosted by India TV Editor-in-Chief and Chairman Rajat Sharma, topped the chart and remained No. 1. The other two programmes in its time slot were at No. 5 (Aaj Tak’s Seedhi Baat) and No. 8 (ABP News’ Press Conference).
Not only did the episode perform well on Linear TV, but it also performed well on digital platforms. On YouTube, India TV has 3.5 million views, Aaj Tak has 2.1 million, and ABP News has 0.8 million views on the Kapil Sharma interview clip, the channel said in a statement.
According to YouTube, Same Aap Ki Adalat content has 16.1 million video views, followed by ABP News with 6 million. In addition, Aaj Tak has 1.16 million total video views on Facebook. Speaking about this latest milestone, India TV Managing Director Ritu Dhawan said, “Aap Ki Adalat has a rich legacy of almost 30 years. At this time, the media landscape has now completely changed. However, despite this evolution, Aap ki Adalat has been able to maintain its essence. The uniqueness, the exclusiveness of this platform, is still there. Hence, for the audience, it is one of the most loved shows. Moving forward, we aim to continue to bring authentic news for the viewers in the years to maintain our position.”
According to the most recent BARC study, released barely two weeks ago, India TV was the unchallenged leader among national Hindi news networks during the Northeast Election Results Day coverage. The latest statistics simply emphasize the popularity of the channel, which has been providing people with genuine news for the previous two decades.
This was not comedian Kapil Sharma’s first appearance on ‘Aap Ki Adalat.’ The performance received a similar reaction in 2015 when he took the stand for the first time to address Rajat Sharma’s probing questions. Given the channel’s prominence among the country’s Hindi-speaking public, it provided the finest venue for him to communicate with the populace.
Kapil Sharma discussed his road to becoming one of the country’s most loved comedians, his struggle with depression, and his professional decisions in the episode filled with huge disclosures and light-hearted moments.
