AI takes center stage at Storyboard18 DNPA Conclave 2025

The evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the media landscape will be the core focus of the Storyboard18 DNPA Conclave 2025, set to take place on February 27 in New Delhi.

Under the theme ‘Media Transformations in the Age of AI’, this third edition of the conclave will bring together global thought leaders, tech innovators, policy makers, and media veterans to decode the future of digital news in an AI-driven era, the company said in a press release.

The conclave, organized by the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA)—India’s apex industry body representing the digital platforms of the top 20 print and TV media houses—will examine AI’s dual impact: unlocking opportunities while presenting new ethical and operational challenges for digital journalism.

The conclave will kick off with a keynote speech by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and MEITY, who will shed light on India’s evolving AI policies and their impact on digital media.

Michael McNamara, Member of the European Parliament & Co-Chair of the EU’s AI Working Group, will offer a European perspective on AI regulations.

Senior Indian officials like S. Krishnan (Secretary, MEITY) and Sanjay Jaju (Secretary, Ministry of I&B) will discuss India’s roadmap for responsible AI adoption in media.

AI is transforming the digital ad landscape, reshaping cost structures and targeting strategies. Industry leaders such as: Mohit Joshi – CEO, Havas Media; Amiya Swarup – Partner, Marketing Advisory, EY; Rajiv Dubey – VP, Marketing, Dabur; Sai Narayan – CMO, Policybazaar.com will dissect how AI is influencing ad spends and brand strategies.

How is AI reshaping newsrooms and storytelling? A power-packed panel featuring: Ankush Sabharwal – Founder, CoRover AI; Kawaljit Singh Bedi – FRAMMER AI; Siddharth Srinivasan – GTM, ElevenLabs – Audio AI will explore how AI is enriching content creation, making news more interactive and accessible.

With AI-driven misinformation and deepfakes on the rise, experts like: Durga Raghunath – Head, News Partnerships, Google India & SE Asia; Jency Jacob – Managing Editor, Boom Live; will stress the growing need for fact-checking frameworks and ethical content creation practices.

As AI-generated content becomes increasingly sophisticated, where does human journalism stand? Top anchors from leading Indian news networks will engage in a thought-provoking debate on the balance between AI efficiency and the irreplaceable human touch in journalism.

Beyond conversations, the conclave will serve as a launchpad for AI-driven startups, offering them a platform to showcase innovations that could shape the future of digital news. The event aims to foster ethical AI adoption while ensuring inclusivity and sustainability in the rapidly evolving digital media space.
