In the latest ranking of countries (excluding India) for top All India Radio (AIR) live-streams on NewsOnAir app, AIR world service has quite a significant following in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Switzerland, Nigeria, Singapore, United States, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
In the rankings of top AIR streams globally (excluding India), AIR world service, AIR Mangalore, AIR Raagam, FM Gold Delhi, AIR Malayalam and AIR Tamil are among the Top 10.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United States and United Kingdom are among the top countries in the world (excluding India) where All India Radio live-streams are most popular.
More than 240 radio services of AIR are live-streamed on the NewsOnAir app, Prasar Bharati’s official app. These All India Radio Streams on NewsOnAir app have a large number of listeners not just in India, but globally, in more than 85 countries.
These rankings are based on data from November 15-30, 2021.
App Download Two Million Globally: Meanwhile, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur on Thursday said in Rajya Sabha the NewsOnAir mobile application is available on both Android and iOS platforms.
More than 250 AIR channels are available to the listeners on this app across the globe. These AIR channels, apart from other genres of content, also carry news and news based current affairs programmes.
According to Thakur, there have been more than two million downloads of this application.
He said that the NewsOnAir app is an effort by the public broadcaster Prasar Bharati towards creating a truly global digital platform. The focus is on making the Indian content, including live TV, news, current affairs, archival content and entertainment programs (text, podcast and videos), from All India Radio and Doordarshan easily accessible 24X7 to everyone across the globe in multiple languages.
The monthly radio programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Mann ki Baat” is also made available in more than 20 different Indian languages to the subscribers globally, the Minister said.
