Amazon Prime Video is set to launch the local version of its popular international series LOL – Hasse Toh Phasse, the unscripted comedy reality show will have Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi for hosts the show and a superlative line up of performers. The show is produced by SOL, and set to premiere on April 30.
The line-up of contestants includes Cyrus Broacha, Sunil Grover, Suresh Menon, Gaurav Gera, Kusha Kapila, Mallika Dua, Ankita Shrivastav, Aakash Gupta, Aditi Mittal, and Aadar Malik.
The show will pit these ten professional comedians against each other for six consecutive hours with two objectives – to make others in the house laugh and ensure that they do not laugh or even smile at the jokes. As the last contestant to remain straight-faced will be announced as the winner and take home a grand prize.
The show, which was originally developed in Japan, has been adopted in countries like Australia, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and Canada. James Farrell, head of local originals, Amazon Studios said, “LOL: Last One Laughing” is a show which the team is proud of and they are confident that the Indian audience will enjoy the format.
For Boman, LOL- Hasse Toh Phasse offered an opportunity to get into a “fresh” comedy space. The Indian audiences love comedy, and with a unique format with ten of India’s most hilarious comedians, this show is power-packed with absolute insanity, laughter, and entertainment,” Boman said.
Apart from hosting, Boman and Arshad will also act as referees in the competition. Arshad, who has previously worked with Boman in successful films like the Munna Bhai franchise and Jolly LLB, said he is delighted to collaborate with the actor again for the show.
“Boman and I are tasked with keeping a close eye on the ten contestants who will be coming under one roof only with one intention – to be the last one laughing. I can’t wait to see what these talented comedians come up with and how far they’ll go to take home the prize,” Arshad said.

Starting April 30, the six-episode series will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
