Times Music has announced the return of industry veteran Anjuman Saxena as the Head of A&R – Spiritual & Devotional, marking a significant moment for the label’s spiritual music vertical.

Known for her deep-rooted connection to Indian classical traditions and a discerning ear for devotional soundscapes, Anjuman brings decades of creative and curatorial expertise to the role.

As per an official press release issued by Times Music, Anjuman will now lead the label’s spiritual and devotional portfolio, shaping its artistic direction and engaging with both established and emerging voices in the genre. A trained Hindustani classical vocalist, Anjuman is no stranger to the Times Music family, having played a crucial role in building its early devotional and ghazal catalogue. Her previous collaborations with legends such as Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh, Usha Mangeshkar, Shubha Mudgal, and Abida Parveen have been instrumental in defining the label’s spiritual identity.

In addition to her time at Times Music, Anjuman has also held key positions at Saregama India, where she reimagined Sufi and classical works through critically acclaimed albums like Voices of Freedom, Call of the River, and Tajalli. Her artistic outlook was profoundly shaped by the mentorship of the late Shri Promod Shankar, an accomplished Sarod player and disciple of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, who guided her during her foundational years at Times Music.

Beyond her work in music, Anjuman is a respected actor with appearances in notable films like ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’, and ‘Bawaal’, as well as popular OTT shows such as ‘City of Dreams’, ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, and ‘Dupahiya’. Her combined experience in performance, storytelling, and music curation lends a rich, multidimensional quality to her creative leadership.

“We are delighted to have Anjuman back at Times Music,” said Mandar Thakur, CEO of Times Music. “Her impeccable artistic instincts and deep understanding of spiritual music make her the ideal leader to take this genre forward in new and exciting ways.”

Expressing her enthusiasm on rejoining, Anjuman Saxena shared, “Times Music has always been close to my heart. I return with the same passion for sound, soaked in tradition but open to innovation. I look forward to crafting soulful journeys that resonate with today’s audiences.”

Her return signals a renewed focus by Times Music on expanding its devotional offerings, building on its legacy while exploring newer sounds and formats that appeal to evolving listener sensibilities.
