Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment, has announced the launch of a dedicated ‘Mr Bean: The Animated Series’ FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) channel. This marks an expansion of the iconic brand to free ad-supported services worldwide for the first time.

This new 24/7 FAST channel, named simply ‘Mr Bean,’ will feature the first three seasons of Mr Bean: The Animated Series. Produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, part of Banijay Kids & Family, the animated series follows the antics of Mr Bean and his beloved Teddy as they embark on various mischievous adventures, The Deadline reported.

The Mr Bean channel will debut on Samsung TV Plus in the coming weeks, followed by a rollout on LG Channels, Plex, Rakuten TV, and TCL across 29 territories this summer. These territories include the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, India, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, and Mexico.

Shaun Keeble, VP of Digital at Banijay Rights, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “Mr Bean’s global image has known no bounds over the last 30-plus years so to expand this iconic brand into the FAST arena – and grow the animated series’ presence ever further – is an exciting moment for us at Banijay Rights.”

Tom Beattie, Managing Director of Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, added, “Mr Bean is one of the most beloved characters in British and international television history with a huge global footprint. It’s brilliant that fans across the world can now watch the Mr Bean animation series 24/7 on a dedicated FAST channel.”

Jennifer Batty, Samsung TV Plus’s European Head of Content Acquisition, remarked, “We’re thrilled to be bringing Mr Bean to our Samsung TV Plus users across Europe. Mr Bean is among the most iconic characters in television and bringing a new dedicated FAST channel and VOD offering to our service demonstrates our commitment to providing users with all the content that they love, for free.”

The original Mr Bean series, co-created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, first aired in 1990 and has since been broadcast in 195 territories. The animated series, which began in 2002, continues to attract significant digital audiences with over 141 million Facebook followers, 73 million YouTube subscribers, and millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok.

Earlier this year, a fourth season of Mr Bean: The Animated Series was commissioned. Produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and ITVX, the new season will air in 2025, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the first live-action episode. Banijay Kids & Family has also taken on the worldwide licensing and merchandising rights for the Mr Bean brand.

This launch underscores Banijay’s commitment to expanding its FAST channel portfolio, now numbering 30, and bringing beloved content to a global audience in new and accessible ways.
