BBC Player and BBC Kids are joining forces with Prime Video Channels to make a significant entry into the Indian market.
Indian audiences will have access to hours of outstanding British content in one convenient location for the first time. This subscription-based service, available through Prime Video Channels, will offer a hand-picked selection of popular British shows, including world-class original dramas, comedies, documentaries, factual programs, entertainment, lifestyle content, and children’s shows.
As per a press release from Amazon Prime Video, for just Rs. 599 annually, Prime members can subscribe to BBC Player, which includes full access to BBC Kids. Alternatively, members have the option to subscribe to BBC Kids alone for Rs. 199 annually.
BBC Player will serve as an all-encompassing platform, incorporating BBC Kids, an internationally recognized children’s brand from BBC Studios. The content lineup promises a mix of new and beloved favorites, ranging from gripping crime thrillers like ‘Six Four’ and British political thriller ‘The Diplomat,’ to light-hearted comedy-dramas like ‘Chivalry’ and comedy sitcom ‘Citizen Khan.’
Moreover, audiences can indulge in plot-driven suspense and thrilling series like ‘Sherlock,’ ‘Unforgotten’ starring Sanjeev Bhaskar, and the BAFTA award-winning ‘Happy Valley.’ Notable shows such as ‘Top Gear,’ ‘The Great British Bake Off,’ and much more will also be available on the platform.
Excitingly, viewers can explore captivating documentaries like ‘The Trump Show,’ medical comedy-drama ‘This is Going to Hurt’ starring Ben Whishaw, mystery drama ‘The North Water’ starring Colin Farrell, romance drama ‘The Pursuit of Love’ starring Lily James and Dominic West, and the real-life experiences of London’s West Indian community in ‘Small Axe’ featuring John Boyega.
