In a potential reunion, Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is in discussions to join forces with acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino for his ultimate directorial endeavor, titled ‘The Movie Critic’.
Following their success with ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, the duo’s collaboration has sparked excitement, with Pitt securing an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the latter, a PTI report stated.
While Tarantino has kept details of ‘The Movie Critic’ under wraps, reports suggest the film is set in 1970s southern California, focusing on a cynical film reviewer. Speculations link the character to the late New Yorker writer Pauline Kael, an influential film critic in her time.
As of now, no studio is formally associated with the project, which is anticipated to be Tarantino’s final directorial venture. The visionary director, renowned for avant-garde cinema classics like ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Kill Bill: Volume 1’ and ‘Volume 2,’ ‘Inglourious Basterds,’ ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘The Hateful Eight’, has consistently expressed his intention to retire after completing ten films.
Tarantino’s ninth film, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, released in 2019 and featured Leonardo DiCaprio. As anticipation builds around ‘The Movie Critic’, fans eagerly await further details about this potential cinematic collaboration between Pitt and Tarantino.
