The three-year contract is another milestone in CEAT’s long relationship with Indian cricket, which includes serving as a strategic timeout partner for the IPL, the Women’s T20 Challenge, bat sponsorships, and working with leading cricketers such as Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team.
This year marks the first year of a full-fledged Women’s Premier League, a clear indication of India’s growing traction and affinity for women’s cricket.
The inaugural WPL will be held in Mumbai at two venues: Brabourne Stadium in Churchgate and D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The inaugural match of the WPL will be held at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. The inaugural season of the WPL will feature five teams: Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gujarat Giants (GG), UP Warriorz (UPW), and Delhi Capitals (DC).
