CNBC-Awaaz recently concluded the West Zone edition of its prestigious 14th Real Estate Awards & Conclave. This event brought together prominent leaders, real estate developers, policymakers, experts, and influential figures to discuss the latest trends and prospects in the real estate sector.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome address by Anuj Singhal, Editor of CNBC Awaaz & CNBC Bajaar,  the business news channel said in a press release.

Singhal emphasized the importance of celebrating the achievements of the real estate industry, especially after the challenges posed by the pandemic. He also highlighted the rigorous process used to select the award winners, with over ten thousand entries received from across India this year, the channel statement added.

Shreegopal Kabra, Managing Director of RR Kabel, delivered a special address and discussed the journey of these awards, from their inception to becoming a respected industry benchmark. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work of builders and how these awards have evolved to represent the entire nation’s real estate industry.

The first discussion, titled ‘India’s Real Estate: Fastest Growing In the World,’ gathered industry thought leaders such as D P Desai (Chief Executive Authority, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority), Suresh Patel (President, NAREDCO Gujarat), Shekhar Patel (President-Elect, CREDAI National, MD, Ganesh Housing), Shreegopal Kabra (Managing Director, RR Kabel), and Gulam Zia (Executive Director, Knight Frank India).

The subsequent discussion focused on ‘West India: Leading the Future of Urbanisation’ and featured panelists including Mihir Patel (Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation), K S Jhala (Deputy Commissioner, Gujarat Housing Board), Tejas Joshi (President, CREDAI Ahmedabad-GIHED), Prof. Vatsal Patel (Adj. Professor, CEPT University, Ahmedabad), Mahesh Gadhavi (CEO, Surat Diamond Bourse), and Shreegopal Kabra (Managing Director, RR Kabel). The discussion delved into the importance of sustainable development and redevelopment schemes in Gujarat.

The evening’s final panel discussion, ‘Preventing Electrical Fires: Innovations in Fire Detection and Suppression,’ featured JN Khadia (Chief Fire Officer, Ahmedabad Fire & Emergency Services), Pankaj Dharkar (Presidential Member, FSAI), and Shreegopal Kabra (Managing Director, RR Kabel).

Harsh Sanghavi, Home Minister, MoS Home & Industries, Youth, Sports & Culture, graced the event as the chief guest and spoke about Gujarat’s pivotal role in India’s realty industry. He praised the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for making the dream of owning a home a reality for many citizens and urged real estate builders from other parts of the nation to study projects in Gujarat.

The evening concluded with the award ceremony, where Harsh Sanghavi, Anuj Singhal, Shreegopal Kabra, and other esteemed guests honored outstanding real estate projects from the West Zone of India. The national awards ceremony is scheduled for December 2023, following awards in the East, North, and South Zones.
