In a bid to address the often unexplored dimensions of news stories, CNN-News18, India’s premier English news channel, has unveiled a new weekend show titled ‘Crux of the Matter.’

The show, hosted by Consulting Editor Rahul Shivshankar, seeks to provide viewers with comprehensive insights into critical news events and their underlying complexities.

Airing every Saturday at 7 pm, ‘Crux of the Matter’ aims to distinguish itself in a media landscape dominated by 24×7 news cycles, the channel said in a press release.

The show acknowledges the increasing trend of viewers turning to alternative platforms, such as YouTube, for context-driven content. However, it recognizes the limitations of these sources in terms of intellectual, moral, and financial resources required for in-depth research.
