Colors is set to launch ‘Mangal Lakshmi’, a captivating drama set in Delhi that explores the bonds of sisterhood and the pursuit of respect in relationships.
The show, scheduled to premiere on February 27, airing every day at 9 pm, follows the story of two sisters, Mangal and Lakshmi, portrayed by Deepika Singh and Sanika Amit, respectively.
The narrative centers around their determination to redefine the essence of love and marriage by prioritizing respect. Mangal, the elder sister, takes on the role of a guardian, aiming to secure a better life for Lakshmi, played by Amit, through a union built on mutual respect.
The storyline unfolds in Delhi, where Mangal manages her household duties flawlessly, epitomizing the strength of every Indian woman.
As the narrative progresses, Mangal steps into the role of matchmaker for her sister, ensuring Lakshmi finds a life partner who values her as an equal. Simultaneously, Lakshmi becomes the pillar of support for Mangal, encouraging her to demand the respect she advocates for her sister in her own marriage.
Singh expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “I’m honoured to be joining Colors after a long break for a story revolving around two women, who are very relatable and whose aspirations are simple. The most exciting part for me is that when viewers watch the show, they will understand the depth and sensitivity with which women handle every situation.”
Amit, making her television debut, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I am absolutely thrilled to be foraying into the television industry with an amazing show and character on Colors. For me, the most special thing about Mangal Lakshmi is that it tells an engaging story led by two women, whose journeys are inspirational.”
Naman Shaw, playing the character of Adit, added, “I am grateful for the opportunity to portray Adit, a multifaceted character with grey shades. Through Adit’s character, I aim to shed light on the destructive situations that arise between married couples due to a lack of respect.”
Produced by Suzana Ghai’s Panorama Entertainment, ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ promises to be a compelling narrative that not only entertains but also prompts reflection on the dynamics of relationships and the roles of women in families.
