CricViz, a global cricket data and analytics provider, has been appointed as data analysis and insights partner by Disney Star for the upcoming 2024 IPL and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
CricViz will partner with the leading Indian broadcaster for the first time, and as part of the agreement, Disney Star will benefit from the expertise of CricViz analysts, who will utilise the CricViz database and data-mining products to assist in every aspect of the presentation, a media statement from the London-based data analytics company stated.
CricViz analysts will work closely with Disney Star’s production and commentary teams across live broadcasts and provide insights to power on-screen graphics and analysis for pre- and post-match shows.
Disney Star has been a leader in using data and statistics to enrich the fan experience on broadcast. The addition of CricViz’s market-leading analysis and insights to their broadcast means they can offer a differentiated understanding of matches to their audience, the data firm added.
CricViz MD Michael Kivido said: “The opportunity to work with Disney Star for two of the biggest Men’s T20 tournaments in 2024 is incredibly exciting. This partnership will provide a platform for CricViz and Disney Star to showcase how world-leading data and analytics can enhance the broadcast and tell unique stories for cricket fans at every level.”
CricViz, part of Ellipse, was founded in 2015 to harness the power of data and analytics to make cricket better for everyone. It combines the world’s most extensive cricket database with predictive models and the deep expertise of its team of data scientists, programmers and analysts.
