The content company from Times Network that creates originals, real and gripping stories, discovery+, in partnership with Times Chronicle, has announced ‘Love Kills: Shabnam aur Saleem Amroha Hatyakand,’ a continuation of the riveting Love Kills saga.
This gruesome tale, which will be released on April 6, 2023, will keep you on the edge of your seat.
On a quiet summer night in 2008, the Amroha district village of Bawankheri awoke to the deafening screams of a young girl pleading for assistance. Her entire family had perished. People who rushed to Shabnam’s assistance were shocked to see the graphic image.
The nine-acre estate was once alive with the chitter-chatter of eight people, seven of whom had been brutally hacked to death. Fresh blood was splattered across the walls, rooms were left desolate, and seven bodies lay where the Genteel Ali family was supposed to sleep peacefully.
The heinous death of a modest, suburban Indian family terrified Amroha and the entire country. As media coverage and investigative officers poured in, a startling reality emerged. The young girl pleading for assistance had committed familicide by conspiring with her lover to have them murdered.
Shabnam Ali and Saleem had a love triangle. Shabnam had a double MA in English and Geography and taught at a primary school, whereas Saleem was a Class 6 dropout trying to make ends meet at a wood sawing unit. Shabnam came from a well-known Saifi Muslim household, whereas Saleem was a Pathan.
The tale took a dark turn when the duo murdered Shabnam’s entire family in cold blood, including her 11-month-old nephew, so they could be together without opposition. They are now on death row for the offense. Shabnam will be the first woman in Independent India to be hanged for a crime if she is killed.
