In a fresh push toward integrated digital experiences, DishTV’s OTT platform Watcho has announced a strategic partnership with RailWire, the broadband internet arm of RailTel Corporation, to roll out bundled internet and entertainment packages in West Bengal.
This new offering combines high-speed broadband with access to a host of regional and national OTT platforms, aimed at simplifying how consumers engage with home entertainment.
According to a press release issued by Dish TV, this collaboration is part of a broader initiative to bring convenient, affordable, and localized content solutions to regional audiences. West Bengal has been chosen as the pilot market, with future expansion planned across India. The bundles will offer a single-subscription solution, removing the hassle of juggling multiple OTT platforms, payment cycles, and service providers—particularly for customers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The combined service will be available in three distinct plans tailored to different usage patterns. Starting at Rs.349 (plus taxes), the RW Bangla Entry Pack offers 25 Mbps speed with 1.5 TB of monthly data. For those with higher bandwidth needs, the RW Bangla Super Pack includes 50 Mbps with 2 TB of data, while the RW Bangla Premium Pack offers 100 Mbps and 2.5 TB of data. All packages come bundled with access to 13+ OTT platforms such as Hoichoi, ShemarooMe, Sanskar, FanCode, Discovery+, Hungama, and Watcho Exclusives, catering to both local and national tastes.
Speaking on the collaboration, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director of Dish TV India Ltd., said, “At Dish TV and Watcho, we are committed to delivering innovations that add real value to our customers’ lives. This partnership with RailTel brings together two trusted brands to offer a hassle-free, all-in-one entertainment solution that is both affordable and locally relevant. We are excited to launch this in West Bengal and are confident it will resonate deeply with consumers seeking simplicity, reliability, and quality in their digital experience.”
RailTel’s Director of NPM, Yashpal Singh Tomar, also expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “We are delighted to join hands with Watcho in bringing this bundled proposition to life. RailWire has always stood for dependable connectivity, and this tie-up allows us to elevate the digital journey of our users by offering them not just internet access, but a complete entertainment ecosystem. This initiative is aligned with our vision of bridging the digital divide and enriching lives, especially in emerging regional markets.”
RailTel currently operates on a massive fiber optic network spanning over 62,000 route kilometers along railway tracks and 21,000 kilometers within cities. The company connects communities across India through more than 11,000 local partners, ensuring last-mile connectivity and digital empowerment in even the remotest areas.
With this partnership, DishTV’s Watcho and RailWire are looking to redefine how regional Indian audiences experience home internet and entertainment—making it not only more accessible but also more relevant to their unique preferences and lifestyles.
