Google Message to enable response with any emoji

Google Contacts rolls out new 'Illustrations' Android tool

The option to reply to a message using any emoji is now being tested by American tech giant Google’s messaging service, Google Messages.

According to ANI, previously, reactions were limited to only seven emojis.

The Google Messages app now allows users to reply to incoming messages by tapping and holding the screen. The possibility to add a new emoji that isn’t already listed is indicated by a new icon in the emoji picker.

Users can press the emoji in the corner of the message that was responded to to see a better look of it next to the name of the respondent.

When viewing responses from a group chat, a pop-up prompt will show all the names and emojis that were used in the responses. Only the most recent Google Messages Beta edition is capable of using the feature at the moment.

Following an unsuccessful #GetTheMessage campaign highlighting Apple’s lack of RCS compatibility and a new app icon upgrade, Google continues to enhance the experience
