JioTV will be home to Red Bull ‘Dance Your Style’ (DYS) World Final 2024 that will take place in Mumbai on November 9 2024, according to a senior executive of the entertainment company.
Pankaj Pandya, GM-Brand Marketing, Jio Entertainment Services, in a LinkedIn post stated that the final battle of DYS will be “brought live to every household and every mobile screen in India”, apart from other viewer-centric initiatives revolving around the event.
DYS is a coveted dance crown that is awarded to winner(s) after dancers, like boxers or MMA fighters, go one on one on the dance floor to dance on a music piece or song that is a surprise to both of them for roughly 60 seconds in each round. And there are two rounds per battle.
What makes DYS a unique reality show, unlike others, according to Pandya’s post on September 23, is that “live audiences decide who the winner is” in this knock out format tournament.
The first ever DYS World Final took place in Paris in 2019, followed by Johannesburg in 2022 and Frankfurt in 2023 and brings in participants from over 40 countries every year.
What will JioTV do? It would make it engaging, interactive and gratifying to watch the finale on JioTV and JioTV+, according to Pandya.
“Our techies and engineers and product geeks at the Jio HQ are working mad hours to make this as EPIC as any other LIVE Sports with insane features such as multi-cam, 360 view, ultra mode, interactivity and … wait for it .. drum rolls … LIVE VOTING,” he stated.
Meanwhile, while Mumbai gears up for the major event in November, the launch party took place in the city on September 18, information on Red Bull’s official website said.
From some of the best dancers showcasing their talent to India’s top rappers announcing the release of banger tracks, the launch party was a high-energy celebration of dance.
The party saw the unveiling of the limited edition can for Red Bull ‘Dance Your Style’ World Final with a localized design of the can with an image of Gateway of India and other elements showcasing the essence of Red Bull DYS, and featured dancers Mekhola from India and The D Soraki from Japan.
