Kangana Ranaut, actor and BJP MP, has officially announced the release date of her highly anticipated film, ‘Emergency’. The film is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2025.
Originally scheduled for a September 6 release, the film faced delays due to prolonged clearance procedures. However, in October 2024, the project received its censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), paving the way for its theatrical debut, PTI reported yesterday.
‘Emergency‘, directed and headlined by Ranaut, delves into one of the most critical political chapters in Indian history — India’s Emergency period from 1975 to 1977, imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana portrays Indira Gandhi, delivering a powerful narrative on the political and social upheavals of the time.
Sharing the news on social media, Kangana expressed her gratitude for the audience’s patience and support, saying, “January 17, 2025, will mark the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. ‘Emergency’ is not just a film but a story that holds immense significance for every Indian.”
