A popular figure on the media-legal circuit and a frequent speaker at our SATCAB Symposiums, Kaushik Moitra has been entrusted with newer responsibilities — and challenges, probably — at his legal firm Bharucha & Partners.

Various LinkedIn posts, including that of the firm’s Managing Partner Justin Bharucha, referred to Moitra’s elevation and additional responsibilities, apart from the benefits of team-building — all of which come with various benefits too.

While Moitra’s fresh LinkedIn profile proudly displayed ‘Partner, Practice Lead-Regulatory, IP, TMT at Bharucha & Partners’, his boss Justin said in a post ‘Walking the Talk is challenging and wonderful’.

“Thank you for your trust, leadership, and commitment to ensure that every step forward adheres to our values and achieves our vision,” Justin Bharucha’s posts further added. Incidentally, Moitra is not the only being feted by Justin as the list  of those being handed new challenges also includes Sneha Jaisingh, Swathi Girimaji and Vishnu Dutt.

Moitra who has been part of the company’s New Delhi office since 2017 — after his previous company merged with B&P — leads the media & technology practice. Working closely with Justin, he has been instrumental in expanding the law firm’s presence in policy advisory, regulatory compliance, and media and technology transactions, including licensing, distribution and revenue-sharing agreements.

Almost a go-to lawyer for media and entertainment business insights for journalists in the Capital, Moitra’s rich experience across business sectors coupled with commercial and risk-averse pragmatism enables him to deliver comprehensive legal strategies to actualise clients’ business objectives from early-stage proof-of-concept to late-stage equity and debt raising.

Dwelling on the changes, Moitra in a LinkedIn post yesterday observed, “The best part about B&P is that we’ve always worked as a team, stepping up when needed and supporting each other all along the way. I’m grateful, and it’s what Vishnu, Sneha, Swathi and I learnt to do and long may we continue to do so.”

For the records, Bharucha & Partners has announced that Moitra, Sneha, Swathi and Vishnu were being made equity partners and being handed additional roles in the company.
