Maddock Films, led by filmmaker Dinesh Vijan, has announced a thrilling slate of movies in its ever-expanding horror-comedy universe, including highly anticipated sequels like ‘Stree 3’ and ‘Munjya 2’, along with new titles such as Shakti Shalini, Chamunda, Pehla Mahayudh, and Doosra Mahayudh.
This announcement follows the buzz created by the ongoing shoot of ‘Thama’, the latest addition to the universe, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, PTI reported from Mumbai.
‘Thama’: Scheduled to debut on Diwali 2025, this movie introduces Ayushmann Khurrana as a vampire, supported by Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
‘Shakti Shalini’: Slated for release on December 31, 2025.
‘Bhediya 2’: Arrives in theatres on August 14, 2026.
‘Chamunda’: Set for December 4, 2026.
‘Stree 3’: The eagerly awaited sequel to the 2018 blockbuster is set to premiere on August 13, 2027.
‘Mahamunjya’ (‘Munjya 2’): Hits cinemas on December 24, 2027.
The production house has also teased an additional title, ‘Doosra Mahayudh’, expected to further enrich the cinematic tapestry of this universe.
The Maddock Films horror-comedy universe began with the runaway success of ‘Stree’ in 2018, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. Subsequent titles like ‘Roohi’ and ‘Bhediya’ expanded the narrative world, while ‘Munjya’, featuring a fresh cast, proved a commercial success in 2024, earning ₹130 crores worldwide. ‘Stree 2’ dominated the same year, becoming the biggest Hindi hit with over ₹500 crores in revenue.
