Media icon Pradeep Guha, Managing Director of 9X Media and former President of The Times of India Group passed away on Saturday, 21st August due to liver cancer. He was 69 and survived by his family.
He was suffering from liver cancer stage-4 and was put on a ventilator on Friday morning due to his critical illness. He was admitted in the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. But he couldn’t survive his battle with this disease.
In a statement Guha’s family said, “Unfortunately, the aggressive nature of the disease has led to rapid deterioration in his condition. The next 48-72 hours are critical. He has been put on the Ventilator early this morning and is in ICU in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.”
Pradeep is known for his work in The Times of India Group as he served three decades in the industry. He is one of the key architects behind the spectacular rise of BCCL under the leadership of the Vice Chairman of the group, Samir Jain from the late 80s onwards.
He has led pioneering contribution in shaping the legendary Times Response team transformed by the dynamics of the media and entertainment industry in the country.
In his years at the Times Group, Guha has pioneered and took to global scale, some of the most iconic events such as Filmfare Awards and Femina Miss India.
Later he went on to lead Zee Telefilms as its CEO and also produced critically acclaimed films such as Fiza, Mission Kashmir and Phir Kabhi.
