On Wednesday, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Google announced that the second iteration of app scale academy would assist 100 additional Indian firms in growing their app businesses.
Currently, tier 2 and tier 3 cities account for close to 50 percent of start-ups in India.
A multi-city roadshow organized by MeitY Startup Hub and Google will also be launched to connect over 1,000 startups in rising hubs like Surat, Indore, Coimbatore, Gangtok and Jaipur.
The aAppscale Academy’ is a growth and development program that trains early to mid-stage start-ups to build world-class apps, IANS reported from New Delhi.
“It’s encouraging to see the significant impact app developers are having in India and around the world, and we must continue to support these startups in turning their creative ideas into scalable businesses,” said Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary of MeitY.
App scale Academy’s Class of 2022 saw apps from a variety of industries apply program learnings to improve their user interface (UI), user experience (UX), security, user base, engagement rates, and ratings.
According to Google, one in every three apps in the cohort doubled its visitor and install base during the program.
