Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw yesterday, inaugurated the ‘Create in India Challenge – Season 1’ as part of the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES). This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to the growing creators’ economy, emphasizing the importance of talent development, job creation, and infrastructure in the media and entertainment sectors.
Vaishnaw highlighted the creative economy’s potential to showcase India’s cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, and traditional practices. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to establishing world-class infrastructure and talent development programs in the entertainment industry, which could generate an estimated 2-3 lakh jobs.
Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of I&B, further emphasized the significance of the initiative, aligning it with Prime Minister Modi’s call for ‘Design in India, Design for the World’. The challenge is designed to attract global talent and foster creativity in India’s media landscape.
