The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has expressed gratitude to the industry for its enthusiastic response following the announcement of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) and the launch of the Create In India Challenge Season-1.
Given the overwhelming interest and to allow ample time for creators and participants to engage fully with the upcoming challenges, the Ministry has decided to expand the event’s scope and make it bigger.
The WAVES summit, initially set to take place earlier in November, 2024, will now be held from February 5th to 9th, 2025, in New Delhi. This revised timeline provides more opportunities for content creators, industry professionals, and participants to prepare for and participate in the event, which promises to be more extensive in scope and impact.
WAVES 2025 aims to bring together diverse stakeholders from the audio-visual and entertainment sectors, including filmmakers, content creators, broadcasters, and digital media professionals, to discuss, explore, and innovate the future of the industry.
The summit will feature:
- Panel Discussions and Keynote Speeches: Insights from top industry leaders, government officials, and global experts on key trends, opportunities, and challenges in the audio-visual landscape.
- Workshops and Masterclasses: Interactive sessions designed to foster skills development and knowledge sharing among professionals at all levels.
- Create In India Challenge Season-1: A platform for creative talents across the country to showcase their innovative content, with a focus on original storytelling, technological advancements, and new media formats.
- Networking Opportunities: A chance for participants to connect with like-minded professionals, form collaborations, and explore new business avenues.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to supporting and nurturing creative talent in India, and underscored the importance of this summit in positioning India as a global hub for audio-visual content creation. The initiative aligns with the vision of “Create In India,” a campaign aimed at promoting the country’s creative industries on a global scale, attracting investments, and encouraging innovation.
As the Ministry prepares to host this expanded edition of WAVES in February 2025, it is looking forward to the continued support and participation of all stakeholders to make the event a resounding success.
The Ministry encourages everyone in the industry to gear up for this significant occasion, which promises to be a landmark event in shaping the future of India’s audio-visual and entertainment sectors.
