In a world constantly racing toward schedules, goals, and to-do lists, NDTV has launched something refreshingly different — a podcast that celebrates the unpredictability of life.

Titled ‘Unplan Life’, the new weekly series is hosted by award-winning journalist Ambika Singh Kahma and premieres on April 15, 2025.

The show will stream every Tuesday at 7:00 am on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and NDTV’s official podcast portal.
Far from the usual productivity talk, Unplan Life dares to question the obsession with structure. Through deeply personal conversations with people from various walks of life, the podcast offers listeners something raw, reflective, and honest — a window into what happens when we let go of control and lean into life’s natural rhythm.

Season 1 of the podcast, titled “Real Stories Behind the Reel,” sets the tone for what feels like a series of thoughtful letters in audio form. It will feature voices that have gone beyond the curated Instagram moments to embrace failure, uncertainty, and transformation. The line-up includes a compelling mix of industry leaders, creatives, doctors, and influencers — each opening up about how life happened to them in unexpected, often beautiful ways.

Among the first guests is Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India & South Asia, who speaks about redefining success in a world dominated by metrics. Actor Zahan Kapoor, representing the new wave of cinema, shares what it means to navigate legacy and ambition on your own terms. The podcast also features Dr. Pal Manickam, a gastroenterologist better known online as “Gutman,” whose blend of medicine and humour is changing the way people think about health.

Also joining the season are Viraj Bahl, Founder of VRB Consumer, Shirin Mann, the entrepreneur behind footwear brand Needledust, and Harpreet Suri, a mom influencer who shares the complexities of motherhood and online identity.

Host Ambika Singh Kahma brings more than just a microphone to the conversation. She brings empathy, a deep journalistic lens, and a storyteller’s heart. Known for her reporting that often steps outside the newsroom to connect with real people, Kahma has received the Red Ink Excellence Award and the ASSOCHAM Diversity and Inclusion Award. Her approach to this podcast is rooted in the belief that some of the best stories are the ones that don’t follow a script.

“Sometimes life only begins when the plan ends,” she shares in the trailer. “This show is a love letter to those messy, beautiful moments that shape us — the ones we don’t see coming.”

NDTV’s decision to launch ‘Unplan Life’ comes at a time when audiences are craving authenticity more than ever. With Season 1 focusing on resilience, purpose, vulnerability and identity, the podcast is poised to strike a chord with listeners navigating transitions, burnout, or even just the quiet desire to slow down.

So if you’ve ever felt out of place in a world that insists on planning everything, this one’s for you. Tune in every Tuesday, starting April 15 — you may just find your story hidden in someone else’s.
