NDTV yesterday unveiled NDTV Marathi, its sixth news channel, dedicated to delivering reliable news and information to the people of Maharashtra.
The launch event in Mumbai, graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, underscores NDTV’s commitment to serving regional audiences with high-quality journalism, a media statement from the news network stated.
According to the channel, NDTV Marathi aims to empower the ‘Marathi manus’ and contribute to Maharashtra’s development by providing honest, transparent, and credible news coverage.
Sanjay Pugalia, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of the NDTV Network, emphasized the significance of NDTV Marathi’s launch on Maharashtra Day (May 1), highlighting the network’s dedication to delivering meaningful news and analysis.
In conjunction with the channel launch, NDTV also unveiled the ‘Let’s Start Up in Maharashtra’ campaign, designed to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the state’s youth. The campaign seeks to inspire and support aspiring entrepreneurs, contributing to Maharashtra’s vibrant start-up ecosystem.
NDTV’s expansion to include NDTV Marathi follows a strategic growth trajectory, transitioning from two channels to a six-channel setup. This expansion, which includes NDTV MP-CG, NDTV Rajasthan and NDTV Profit, reflects the network’s commitment to diversifying its offerings and reaching various consumer segments.
The network’s significant investments in cutting-edge infrastructure, including state-of-the-art broadcast facilities in Mumbai’s BKC area and plans for an integrated facility in NCR, Delhi, underline its dedication to providing top-notch news coverage, the statement elaborated.
NDTV Group reported a 59 percent revenue growth in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2023-2024, compared to the corresponding period last year. This growth reflects the network’s strong performance and underscores its position as a leading player in the media industry.
