The Diamond States Summit, organized by News18 India, arrived in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, continuing its series of influential state events that previously touched down in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Bihar.
As per a press release, the summit brought together political leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss Uttarakhand’s development priorities, including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and key ministers.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized Uttarakhand’s dedication to development despite natural challenges, stating, “Our government focuses on delivering real change, rebuilding, and supporting women with initiatives like 30% reservation, even amid adversities.”
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi shared his personal journey of service, underscoring his dedication to Uttarakhand’s people and vision, especially in honoring the state’s martyrs.
Finance & Urban Development Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal criticized past administrations for failing to conduct a caste census, saying, “Our government is proactive in maintaining stability while fostering a welcoming environment for those contributing to Uttarakhand’s growth.”
Saurabh Bahuguna, Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Skill Development, highlighted his commitment to upholding his family’s legacy, expressing his dedication to serving Uttarakhand’s people and strengthening public trust in the BJP.
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat advocated for a caste census to address economic disparities, observing that politics must evolve from divisive rhetoric to meaningful development for all communities.
The summit concluded with a unified vision for Uttarakhand’s future, sparking collaborative efforts to drive sustainable progress across the state.
