The real estate landscape of Navi Mumbai and Raigad is undergoing a remarkable transformation, driven by strategic urban planning, policy reforms, and large-scale infrastructure development.

Addressing these crucial aspects, News18 Lokmat successfully hosted the ‘Real Estate Conclave’, bringing together industry stalwarts, policymakers, and experts to discuss opportunities, challenges, and the future of real estate in the region, the news network said in a press release.

The event, held in Navi Mumbai, was graced by the presence of Aseem Gupta, Principal Secretary, Urban Development, who highlighted the government’s vision for urban expansion and sustainable development.

In his keynote address, Gupta emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the government, developers, and investors to shape a thriving real estate sector that meets the demands of a rapidly urbanizing population. He further elaborated on policies aimed at streamlining processes, boosting infrastructure growth, and making Navi Mumbai & Raigad a prime real estate destination.

The conclave featured three power-packed panel discussions that delved into the evolving landscape of Navi Mumbai and Raigad’s real estate market.

The first panel, ‘3rd Mumbai – TPS/NAINA/MMRDA’, focused on the immense potential of Navi Mumbai and Raigad as emerging real estate hubs. Industry leaders, including Vijay Singhal (MD, CIDCO), Prakash Baviskar (CMD, Baviskar Group), and Devang Trivedi (MD, Progressive Group), shared their insights on key infrastructure projects, transformative developments, and the region’s growing appeal for investors.

The panel explored how initiatives such as the Navi Mumbai International Airport, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, and CIDCO’s Town Planning Schemes (TPS) are shaping the region’s future and positioning it as an attractive investment destination.

The second panel discussion, ‘Redevelopment and Self-Development of Old Societies’, tackled the challenges and opportunities in society redevelopment. Experts including Somnath Kekan (Assistant Director, Town Planning, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation), Rajiv Gurav (Director, Urban Analysis & Solutions Consultancy Services), and Architect Atul Mhatre (Director, Wise Reality) discussed how self-redevelopment is emerging as a viable alternative for aging housing societies.

They emphasized the importance of financial independence and decision-making power for residents, making the case for self-redevelopment over traditional builder-led projects.

The final panel, ‘Implementation of Government Policies’, addressed regulatory challenges and strategies for improving the ease of doing business in the real estate sector. Panelists Jitendra Bopale (Director, Town Planning, MSRDC), Shahjirao Anandrao Patil (Partner, S M Developers), and Ateeque Khot (Director, Aashiyana Dream Homes Pvt. Ltd.) shared their perspectives on streamlining policy execution and creating a more investor-friendly regulatory environment. The discussion focused on the importance of a transparent and efficient framework that facilitates real estate development while ensuring compliance with urban planning regulations.

The conclave was supported by major industry players, with Chetak Minerals as the co-presenter and Reliance Industries Ltd. as a co-powering partner. Other associates included LIC Housing Finance Ltd., Navya Prime Property, Saraswat Bank, and CREDAI BANM (Builders Association of Navi Mumbai). Their participation underscored the importance of industry collaboration in driving the region’s real estate growth.

As the Navi Mumbai and Raigad real estate sector continues to expand, discussions like these pave the way for informed decision-making, policy enhancements, and investor confidence. The event reinforced the region’s potential as a dynamic real estate hotspot, offering lucrative opportunities for both developers and homebuyers.
