On March 13 and 14, News18 Network is set to unveil the results of its Mega Opinion Poll, a significant survey covering 518 Lok Sabha constituencies across 21 major states.
With an expansive sample size of over 1,18,616 respondents, representing 95 percent of Lok Sabha constituencies, this survey stands as one of the largest and most comprehensive political polls in the country, the news network said in a media statement.
Scheduled to air at 6 pm on March 13, the Mega Opinion Poll aims to provide valuable insights into the political landscape of India. The results promise a detailed analysis of voter sentiment and preferences, offering a crucial understanding ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The survey findings will project vote and seat shares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with individual projections for all major states and regions within states. The structured questionnaire, translated into 11 regional languages, facilitated personal face-to-face interviews conducted at randomly selected homes.
Each Lok Sabha constituency was meticulously covered, with three Assembly constituencies and 5 polling booths selected in each, ensuring a representative and unbiased sampling process.
Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by trained investigators from ten different fieldwork agencies, incorporating strict quality control measures. Before entering the field, teams underwent detailed briefing sessions to ensure adherence to the sampling plan and questionnaire.
The Opinion Poll results will be extensively covered across all 20 News18 network channels, including News18 India, CNN-News18, and News18 regional channels in 16 languages. The comprehensive coverage extends to News18’s 16 websites in various languages, ensuring a wide-reaching and inclusive dissemination of the landmark survey.
Conducted by News18 Poll Hub, the poll emphasizes transparency and accountability, the network added. Detailed responses and methodology of the survey will be made available on News18.com, allowing the public to gain deeper insights into the poll process.
