In a major move for the global esports industry, NODWIN Gaming, a leading force in gaming and youth entertainment, has fully acquired StarLadder, the renowned esports event organizer.

This strategic acquisition strengthens NODWIN’s commitment to producing top-tier AAA esports events, bringing StarLadder’s expertise into its growing portfolio, the company said in a press release.

The deal, valued at an initial USD 5.5 million (INR 46.75 crores), marks a significant milestone in NODWIN’s expansion strategy, with additional payouts tied to performance-based targets. StarLadder will retain its brand identity, and its founder, Roman Romantsov, will continue leading the business while also becoming a shareholder in NODWIN Gaming.

NODWIN Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies Limited, has been making aggressive acquisitions in recent years. The company has expanded its global footprint through strategic purchases, including Comic Con India, Trinity Gaming, AFK Gaming’s agency business, Freaks 4U Gaming (Germany), Ninja Global (West Asia and Turkey), and Branded (Singapore-based live events firm).

The StarLadder acquisition is a pivotal step in NODWIN’s journey to dominate the AAA esports space, enabling it to deliver high-caliber gaming tournaments across emerging and established markets. This move will help StarLadder scale its operations, enter new regions, and forge fresh partnerships—unlocking greater opportunities for sponsors, players, and fans alike.

For StarLadder’s existing partners, the acquisition means a stronger global reach and access to new opportunities through NODWIN’s extensive network. The deal also fuels excitement for new, large-scale gaming events that will redefine esports entertainment.

Speaking on the acquisition, Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder of NODWIN Gaming, said:
“StarLadder and Roman are the masterminds behind some of the most iconic esports events that fans love. Roman’s expertise in stage design, creative broadcasting, and event production is unparalleled. I’ve admired his work for years and am thrilled to build NODWIN alongside him. With this partnership, we aim to bring more CS:GO tournaments and world-class esports experiences to emerging markets.”

With over two decades of expertise, StarLadder has been behind some of the industry’s biggest esports tournaments, including CS:GO and Dota 2 Majors, PUBG Europe League, and the legendary StarSeries (18 CS:GO seasons, 17 Dota 2 seasons). The company has also delivered white-label projects for major publishers like Valve, Tencent, Krafton, Blizzard, Riot Games, Supercell, and Moonton.

Roman Romantsov, Founder of StarLadder, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:
“We live in a globalized era where collaboration fuels success. Joining forces with NODWIN Gaming is the perfect step for us to expand our vision and deliver unforgettable esports experiences across multiple regions and titles. This is just the beginning—stay tuned for what’s next!”

With StarLadder now part of NODWIN Gaming, esports fans can expect bigger, bolder, and more immersive gaming tournaments in the near future, reinforcing NODWIN’s position as a global leader in the esports entertainment industry.
