Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan engaged in a thought-provoking conversation on the popular show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ with India TV Chairperson and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma.
During the episode set to air this weekend, Chouhan took a swipe at the Congress party for what he sees as their newfound embrace of Hindutva in the run-up to elections.
Chouhan emphasized that Hindutva has never been the BJP’s election agenda but is instead a matter of their faith and belief. He pointed out that it was the Congress party that previously labeled Hindutva as communal and caused an uproar at its mention. Chouhan accused the Congress of trying to become “election Hindus” by adopting Hindutva as a political strategy, stating that this is not how religion should be practiced and that it appears to be mere showmanship.
In addition to discussing Hindutva, Chouhan addressed allegations of scams in the state, directing his criticism towards the Congress party, which he accused of having “destroyed Madhya Pradesh.” He noted that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating various cases involving Congress, and they should answer for these allegations.
Highlighting the achievements of his government, Chouhan emphasized the significant progress made in Madhya Pradesh under BJP governance. He reiterated the government’s commitment to state development and its contribution to overall economic growth.
Turning his attention to the newly-formed Opposition alliance INDIA, Chouhan asserted that there is no mutual fondness among the opposition parties, and their ideas and thoughts do not align.
Currently serving his fourth term as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan has had a long and influential political career. He previously held the position for three consecutive terms between 2005 and 2018 before returning in 2020 following the fall of the Kamal Nath-led UPA government due to the exit of former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his close aides.
In ‘Aap Ki Adalat,’ a headline-making program with a legacy spanning over two decades, Chouhan delved into various sensitive topics, including the agenda for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly 2023 and the state’s development strategy. The show has featured over 1000 personalities, including politicians, movie stars, athletes, and gurus, making it a staple of Indian television. ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ airs every Saturday at 10 PM on India TV, with repeat broadcasts on Sunday at 10 AM and 10 PM.
