Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a candid conversation with Rajat Sharma on the ‘Salaam India’ show broadcast on India TV, expressed his unwavering commitment to working tirelessly towards achieving a developed India by 2047, the news channel said in a press release.
“I believe God has ordained that I should work 24×7 till 2047 to achieve the aim of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India),” he stated with confidence.
Reflecting on his divine purpose, Modi said, “I feel God Almighty has sent me for a special purpose… to achieve the objective of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. God is showing me the path, God is giving me the energy.”
Modi responded to criticisms from the Congress and other opposition parties regarding the lack of a level playing field in elections. He recalled the 1991 elections when polling was postponed for 22 days after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, questioning if that was a level playing field. “Was that a level-playing field?” he asked, emphasizing the unusual nature of the nationwide postponement.
Defending his administration’s actions against corruption, Modi highlighted recent court decisions involving prominent leaders. He dismissed allegations of political vendetta, stating, “We did not send them to jail. The courts sent the two chief ministers to jail.”
Responding to allegations from Pakistan about India’s involvement in targeted assassinations, Modi remarked, “I know I am the root cause of their worries,” but expressed confusion over why some Indians echo such sentiments. He criticized a former Indian leader for suggesting that the 26/11 attacks were perpetrated by Indians, calling it a disgraceful statement.
Modi’s conversation highlighted his vision for a developed India and his dedication to combating corruption. He reassured his commitment to his role, promising to lead India towards its goal by 2047, underlining the divine motivation he believes is guiding his efforts.
