OYO launches Shark Tank inspired loyalty programme, Wizard Shark

Global hospitality technology company OYO has introduced Wizard Shark, a limited-edition loyalty programme, inspired by the reality series Shark Tank India, featuring OYO Founder & Group CEO Ritesh Agarwal. Priced at a token sum of Rs 1, the programme offers unique benefits, including one night’s free stay each year and additional discounts.

The Wizard Shark programme provides customers with a complimentary night’s stay after accumulating seven room nights. Users can also enjoy an extra 5% discount on OYO’s extensive network of over 3,800 Wizard hotels in India. Additionally, participants can receive rewards in the form of OYO money under the Wizard Shark initiative, which is valid for three months and includes free membership renewal.

Originally launched in August 2018, OYO’s Wizard programme boasts more than 4.4 million active members, making it one of the largest loyalty programmes in the Indian hospitality industry. Designed to recognize and reward frequent travelers, the initiative benefits customers with attractive deals while simultaneously enhancing revenue for OYO’s hotel partners.

Our Wizard programme has emerged as a major draw for customers, and Wizard Shark, with its attractive pricing and wide range of benefits, will hopefully prove to be equally appealing to our loyal customers.”

Geared towards business travelers, Wizard Shark is positioned as a smarter and more efficient way to book stays at competitive prices. Agarwal, the youngest-ever judge on Shark Tank India, emphasized the program’s focus on providing the best-in-class experience, particularly for repeat customers.

Apart from Wizard Shark, the loyalty programme includes three other tiers: Blue, Silver, and Gold. Gold members, for instance, are entitled to one free stay each year after staying for five nights at OYO. Wizard Blue and Silver customers can enjoy reward stays on their eighth and seventh nights, respectively. Gold members also benefit from unlimited ‘Pay at Hotel’ bookings, avoiding the need for prepayment, along with priority customer support.

Wizard Blue is available for Rs 99, while Silver and Gold memberships are priced at Rs 199 and Rs 399, respectively. The comprehensive loyalty program aims to further strengthen OYO’s relationship with its customer base by offering an array of enticing benefits across different membership tiers.
