Fans of South Korean heartthrob Park Bo-gum have reason to rejoice as his much-anticipated drama Good Boy is set to make its digital debut on Prime Video.
The streaming platform announced on Monday that the series will be available to audiences across India and several other countries, adding to the growing wave of Korean content taking over global OTT platforms.
Good Boy marks Park Bo-gum’s return to the screen after his successful run in popular shows like ‘Love in the Moonlight’ and ‘Record of Youth’. Known for his versatile performances and charming screen presence, the actor now takes on a role that blends action, emotion, and resilience in a gripping sports drama setting.
The series follows a group of national athletes who, after enduring injuries and setbacks, are drafted into a special police unit. Park Bo-gum plays the lead role of Yoon Dong-joo, a former boxing champion who joins the unit after a traumatic incident shatters his Olympic dreams. The narrative weaves together themes of personal redemption, teamwork, and the grey areas of justice, with Bo-gum bringing a mix of vulnerability and strength to his character.
Directed by Shim Na-yeon, who helmed Beyond Evil, and penned by Lee Dae-il of Life on Mars fame, Good Boy promises both high-stakes action and emotionally charged storytelling. The drama has already generated significant buzz in South Korea, and its release on Prime Video is expected to draw a wide international audience.
According to a report by PTI, Prime Video is looking to expand its portfolio of K-dramas, with Good Boy being one of the flagship titles this year. The streaming giant hopes to tap into the growing fanbase of Korean content in India, which has surged in popularity over the past few years.
Speaking about the launch, a spokesperson from Prime Video said, “We are thrilled to bring Good Boy to our Indian audience. Park Bo-gum’s performance is truly powerful, and the story is both entertaining and deeply moving. It’s the kind of content that resonates globally while being rooted in local emotions.”
The release date has not yet been officially disclosed, but the show is expected to drop later this year as part of Prime Video’s expanding Asian content slate. Fans are already counting down the days, eager to see their beloved star take on a bold new role that challenges both his physicality and his emotional range.
