Prime Video delivered a musical treat at the closing ceremony of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, offering a grand preview of the much-anticipated second season of its original series, ‘Bandish Bandits’.
According to a press release, the new season, set to premiere on December 13, 2024, promises to carry forward its legacy of blending Indian classical music with contemporary melodies.
The event featured an electrifying musical performance by renowned artists Mame Khan, Nikita Gandhi, and DigV (Digvijay Singh Parihar), who captivated the audience with soulful renditions of Padharo Mhare Des, Ghar Aa Mahi, and the series’ iconic theme track. Their performances brought alive the spirit of the show, weaving classical traditions with modern fusion in a spellbinding showcase.
Key members of the ‘Bandish Bandits’ team, including lead actors Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry, director Anand Tiwari, creator Amritpal Singh Bindra, and co-producer Dimple Mathias, were present at the ceremony. Joining them were Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, and Sahira Nair, Head of Hindi Scripted Series at Prime Video India. Expressing their gratitude, the cast and creators applauded IFFI for being a platform that celebrates Indian storytelling and talent.
The event also marked the announcement of the ‘Bandish Bandits’ S2 trailer, set for release on December 2, 2024. Prime Video shared a sneak peek into the making of the series, highlighting its return after a four-year hiatus and celebrating the continuation of its unique musical narrative.
The second season, produced by Leo Media Collective Private Limited, is a creation of Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari, with Tiwari also directing the series. It features returning stars Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, and Kunaal Roy Kapur, while welcoming new cast members such as Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, Yashaswini Dayama, Aaliyah Qureshi, and Saurabh Nayyar in pivotal roles.
‘Bandish Bandits’ Season 2 will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video from December 13 in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide.
