Prime Video is set to deliver an unparalleled NFL experience this season with an extensive lineup that includes exclusive coverage of Thursday Night Football (TNF), Black Friday Football, and the first-ever NFL Wild Card Playoff game on the platform.
This marks the streaming service’s most comprehensive NFL schedule to date in its third season of coverage.
According to the platform, the schedule kicks off on Thursday, September 12, with a highly anticipated showdown between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in Miami. The 2024 TNF season features a blockbuster slate of 12 divisional matchups and six teams making multiple appearances, including the 49ers, Jets, Bengals, and Rams.
Highlighting the schedule are key games such as Aaron Rodgers and the Jets’ home opener against the Patriots on September 19, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys versus the Giants on September 26, Joe Burrow and the Bengals facing last year’s MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on November 7, the Steelers against the Browns on November 21, and Jordan Love and the Packers against the Lions on December 5.
For the first time, Prime Video‘s live NFL coverage will extend from late August through January, featuring a marquee Black Friday Football matchup on November 29 between the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs and the Raiders. This extensive coverage is one of the many benefits included with a Prime membership, offering unparalleled savings, convenience, and entertainment.
Jay Marine, Vice President of Prime Video and Global Head of Sports and Ads, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is our best schedule yet, and with this lineup of must-see matchups, our award-winning production, and innovations you can only get on Prime Video, fans will not want to miss a minute of Thursday Night Football this season. Our upcoming TNF schedule includes great games all season long, and we’ll cap the season for the first time with the first-ever NFL postseason game on Prime Video. I can’t wait to kick things off in Miami on September 12.”
Last year’s TNF campaign on Prime Video saw unprecedented viewership growth, averaging a 24% increase from the previous year. Viewers of TNF on Prime were also younger by an average of seven years compared to those watching on traditional networks and tended to watch more of the games. The pregame and postgame shows also saw significant viewership increases.
Prime Video’s TNF production team recently earned 11 Sports Emmy nominations for its 2023 coverage, including nods for Outstanding Digital Innovation, Outstanding Interactive Experience, and Outstanding Personality awards for sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung and features reporter Taylor Rooks.
Viewers in the U.S. can watch TNF games on Prime Video through various devices, including connected televisions, streaming media players, set-top boxes, and mobile devices using the Prime Video app. Games will also stream live on Amazon, NFL+, Twitch, and over-the-air TV stations in the home markets of the competing teams, as well as in Spanish on Prime Video. Coverage begins each Thursday with TNF Tonight at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
The NFL leverages Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its schedule-making process, which involves approximately a quadrillion possible schedule combinations and over 26,000 factors such as stadium availability, travel requirements, prime-time games, competitive fairness, and division rivalries. AWS’s high-performance computing capabilities help the NFL determine the best possible schedule each season.
Don’t miss out on this season’s thrilling NFL action on Prime Video. Tune in starting September 12 for an unmatched football experience.
