Prime Video unveils content slate

Prime Video, India’s premier entertainment destination, has just announced its most expansive and diverse content lineup to date, promising an unparalleled entertainment experience for viewers across the country. With close to 70 series and movies slated for release over the next two years, Prime Video continues to solidify its position as the go-to platform for top-tier entertainment.

The unveiling took place at the second edition of Prime Video Presents India showcase in Mumbai, where industry insiders and media luminaries gathered to get a glimpse of what Prime Video has in store for its audiences. With a whopping 40 original series and movies, alongside 29 eagerly awaited Indian films, the new slate is set to captivate and engage viewers of all ages and preferences, the platform said in a press release.

Sushant Sreeram, Country Director of Prime Video, India, expressed the platform’s commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment experiences, stating, “At Prime Video, it has been our focus to super-serve Indian customers with the best of entertainment across formats. From clutter-breaking Original series and movies, direct-to-service premieres to post-theatrical launches of some of the biggest hits across languages, our goal is to be the first choice of entertainment for every customer.”

The upcoming originals on Prime Video promise a diverse range of content, catering to a wide spectrum of tastes and preferences. From gripping thrillers and heartwarming dramas to side-splitting comedies and spine-tingling horror, the slate boasts a rich tapestry of storytelling that reflects the vibrant diversity of Indian cinema. Additionally, the platform will feature movies from some of India’s most prestigious film studios, adding to the richness and variety of content available to subscribers.

Aparna Purohit, Head of Originals for India and Southeast Asia at Prime Video, emphasized the platform’s mission to showcase diverse and authentic Indian stories on a global scale. “In just 2023, our content was watched in over 210 countries and territories, in any given week, and trended in the top 10 on Prime Video worldwide for 43 of the last 52 weeks,” she said. “It has been gratifying to witness the national and global impact of our shows and movies, and this fuels us to further champion Indian content on the global stage.”
