Prime Video has announced the launch of ‘Love Storiyaan,’ a six-part series set to premiere on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
Conceptualized by Somen Mishra, the Amazon Original Series brings to life the extraordinary love stories of six real-life couples, drawing inspiration from the narratives featured on the India Love Project, a social media initiative by former journalists Priya Ramani, Samar Halarnkar, and Niloufer Venkatraman, PTI reported from Mumbai.
Backed by filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, ‘Love Storiyaan’ showcases the diverse tales of love, hope, happiness, and triumph over adversities experienced by these couples from across the country.
Directed by Akshay Indikar, Archana Phadke, Collin D’Cunha, Hardik Mehta, Shazia Iqbal, and Vivek Soni, the series marks Dharmatic’s inaugural venture into presenting authentic stories of real people.
Karan Johar, renowned for directing iconic films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…,’ expressed that ‘Love Storiyaan’ goes beyond merely recounting real-life love stories. The series explores love in its myriad forms, portraying connections that transcend the ordinary. Johar highlighted that these are stories of real individuals who overcame significant obstacles, including cultural, faith-based, gender-related, or even war-induced barriers, to find true love.
Aparna Purohit, Head of Originals, India and Southeast Asia, Prime Video, emphasized that “Love Storiyaan” is a testament to the platform’s commitment to crafting narratives reflecting the rich diversity of its audience. She described the series as an exploration of authentic and uplifting love stories that challenge societal norms and transcend boundaries.
