In a prestigious ceremony held at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium in Mumbai, producer Dharmesh Pandit received the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award 2024 for his Hindi film ‘Take It Easy’.
According to ANI, the film was recognized as the ‘Best Educational Film of the Decade,’ a notable achievement that Pandit describes as a great source of pride and encouragement for filmmakers.
Directed by Sunil Prem Vyas, Take It Easy features renowned actors such as Vikram Gokhale, Dipannita Sharma, Raj Zutshi, and Anang Desai. Inspired by Osho’s book ‘Shiksha Mae Kraanti’, Pandit, who is also a builder and a follower of Osho, wrote the film’s story and decided to produce it.
The film, which addresses the impact of parental pressure on children, has been dubbed in ten languages, including Hindi and various South Indian languages.
‘Take It Easy’ has garnered multiple awards and nominations at various film festivals. It won the Best Children’s Film Award at the Gwalior Film Festival and was nominated in the Best Film category at the Jaipur International Film Festival.
Pandit highlighted the increasing burden on school students due to heavy school bags and parental expectations. He emphasized that the competitive environment created by society puts immense pressure on children’s minds, leading to alarming outcomes. He described Take It Easy as an eye-opening film that should be viewed by both children and their parents.
Pandit praised the film’s cast for their excellent performances and noted that some scenes are particularly emotional. He expressed his satisfaction with the impactful message conveyed through the film. Additionally, he highlighted the film’s music, particularly a song by Sonu Nigam, released by Zee Music, which he described as emotionally stirring.
The film’s narrative revolves around two children whose parents impose their unfulfilled dreams upon them. The storyline addresses broader issues such as school management practices and the pressures of securing admission to English medium schools with high fees.
Following the success of ‘Take It Easy’, Pandit announced plans to produce a web series, continuing his commitment to creating meaningful and impactful content.
