The Leading Tamil News and Infotainment channel Puthiya Thalaimurai, which is regarded as an unbiased and independent news delivery platform, is all set to host its 9th annual Tamilan Awards for the year.
The award is all set to be announced on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25, at 8:00 pm, at the Chennai Trade Center at Nandambakkam.
Where Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundrarajan was the special guest.
The award is an attempt to recognize emerging stars for their achievements and their contribution to society.
The Tamilan Awards were given to encourage and identify the best achievers in 6 major fields in Tamil Nadu and those who are budding stars of hope in the same field.
As per the press release, Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) Joint Managing Director Suchitra Ella was awarded the Tamilan Award for Industry this year. The award was presented by the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundrarajan.
Under the same category the budding star Tamilan award was presented to Milaap co-founder Anoj Viswanathan, Kamala Cinemas owner Nagu Chidambaram and Krishna Sweets owner Murali handed over the award and certificate.
Tamilan Award for Social Service was given to Former Health Secretary Dr. J.Radhakrishnan by P. Sathyanarayanan, Chairman of Puthiya Thalaimurai Channel, and Nawabzada Mohammad Asif Ali, Prince of Arcot.
Under the same category of budding star, the Tamilan Award to Deepaknathan of the December 3 Movement, the award and certificate were handed over to him by Avvai Arul and Terani Rajan, Dean of Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital.
The Tamilan Award for the Science and Technology category was presented to Kalachelvi, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Scientist Mylaswamy Annadurai and IRS Officer Gomati presented the award.
Anna University Vice Chancellor Velraj and Dr. Krishnarajan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of Ethiopia also presented the Budding Star Tamilan Award to the young scientist Naveen Ganesan in the same field.
Art category Tamilan Award was given to film director S.P. Muthuraman, the award was jointly presented by film director Pakyaraj and producer Abhirami Ramanathan.
Film director Lokesh Kanagaraj was also awarded the budding star Tamilan Award in the same field. The award was presented by director Prabhu Salomon and AVM Shanmugam.
Under the Literature category, the Tamilan Award was presented to writer Kala Priya , the award was presented by Ace art artist Maruthu and writer Raju Sundararajan.
The budding star Tamilan award was given to young writer Thiruchenthazhai, poet Andal Prayadarshini and translator Karthikaipandian handed over the awards.
The Tamilan award in the sports category was given to former Indian hockey player Bhaskaran.
Asian Games gold medalist athlete Gnanasekaran and film actor Bhaskar presented the award.
In the same category, the budding Star Tamilan award was given to young sportsperson Revathi by writer Latha Arunachalam and the founder of Mathura Travels VKD Balan.
The program was preceded by a musical performance by Darsh Band and a performance by Kalaimamani Janani, singer Velmurugan, Keyman Dance Troupe, and Natiya Shetra Sivalaya Dance Troupe.
