Shark Tank established its presence in the Indian market after its debut in 2021. The show had a significant impact on Indian culture, promoting a positive view of entrepreneurship.
Taking the franchise forward, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV are preparing to release the show’s second season for viewers. The second season of Shark Tank India, produced by StudioNEXT, will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television on January 2nd at 10 p.m. every Monday through Friday, as well as stream on Sony LIV.
This season promises viewers fresh and new business terminologies, as well as opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. Shark Tank India season one was a huge success with brands and advertisers, and it influenced trends in conceptual advertising and marketing. Season 2 has already tripled the show’s revenue on Sony LIV over the previous year. Sony LIV has partnered with ACKO as the co-presenting partner for the second season. The show is supported by well-known advertisers such as Pokerbaazi. Dwelling into the special categories, they have onboarded Cashfree Payments as the “Payment Partner”, a small case as an “Ideas Partner”, and Fi Money as the “Money Partner”. Other brands such as EatFit and Lenskart have also joined forces.
Furthermore, CarDekho will co-power the show on Sony Entertainment Television. SET has also added Cashfree Payments as a “Payments Partner,” as well as Seqrite, Lenskart, Chaudhry Nummero, and Apollo 24|7 as associate sponsors.
This year’s honorees represent the country’s pioneering start-up ecosystem: Aman Gupta (co-founder and CMO of boAt), Amit Jain (CEO and co-founder – CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com), Anupam Mittal (founder and CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group), Namita Thapar (executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Peyush Bansal (founder & CEO of Lens (co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics).
Their dynamic personalities and camaraderie have helped them and the show become household names. While the Sharks anchor the show with their offers and deals, and in many ways pearls of wisdom as well, host and ace stand-up comedian Rahul Dua will act as a guide to the pitchers this season.
